  I've lost my faith, and I'm not sure that's bad.

  i've tried in the last few months to rely on my faith in god to carry me through the bad hand that life has dealt me, and for the most part i have managed to carry on with my sanity in order.

  i do however have one question that i can't answer and therefore wish to ask you all if you have any clue as to the answer.. the love of my life died and the only consistant reason i get from my reading of the sciprture and my conversations with "religious" persons is that god had a higher purpose for calling my love to heaven.

  this only begs of me to ask the question, if the lifestyle my love was leading was so adverse to god's commandments, then why would he want to call him to a higher purpose?

  I'm saddened to hear of your deep loss Kevin,

  I don't believe in a God in heaven or Angels talking to the souls of the dead or men in clean red suits clambering down my chimney in late December. As far as i can tell the purpose of life is life. We delude ourselves in all kinds of ways when we go beyond that pure and simple thought but often our own stability and survival demand we take respite from lifes hash realities or take on desires and wants to make life worth living. Biologically i have been surplus to requirements for some time now, having replicated my faulty genes some years ago but will spend the next 40 or so years enjoying as many days as possible, reading, swimming, working wood by hand etc..

  right prisca, so i guess you weren't ly'n .. you really have seen everything now .. lol .. in Sydney i believe that but down Tathra a bloke has to wait for the world to pass by one circumnavigating caravaning pensioner at a time .. personally i'm waiting to see a giant israeli eskimo called 'Mtzion Elija MtCarmel' before i can declare my visionary trip on this planet complete but it looks like he's disappeared .. perhaps God took him up in a windstorm.

  I'm so proud of you and Tina not being bitchy to each other in this thread, although the heavy air and glint of sharpened nails and devil woman eyes would have wiser men ensconced in the nearest broom cupboard lol.. anyway rest easy, i've done enough bitch'n today for all of us.

  That's one mystery gone 67,945 to go. My JW mother told me sickness was caused by tiny little creatures taking over ones body (called the bad fairies) Very sage advice to a man who used to swallow just about any medicine.

  Van Morrisons "Rock'n and bopp'n down at the Kingdom Hall" Bob Dylans "Changing of the Guards" REM's "Loosing My Religion" or just about anything by Nick Cave.

  The pain of hearing these songs murdered by the high pitched wailing of Jehovah's Windowashers would be well outweighed by the joy in imagining thier chain loosening effect.
